Last month, on the 13th February 2018, I gave my first talk on photography. In fact, it was the first public speaking (other than best man speeches) that I had ever done!
St Agnes Photographic Club approached me in January to say that they had planned to contact me for next year's schedule but had a cancellation in February to fill if I was able to. The program manager explained that my photography would coincide well with the club's forthcoming "Cornish Landscapes" competition - and could provide inspiration on the subject.
As someday in the distant future, I'd like to become a semiprofessional landscape photographer, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a step closer. I nervously agreed, with some enthusiasm if that's possible?!
Upon meeting the club members, I immediately felt at ease. I was a little concerned that I'd struggle to talk about my images for the full 90 mins or so. But as it turned out, of the 70 images I had prepared, I only needed half of them.
Afterwards, I received some encouraging comments about my work and presentation.
